A state oversight committee has recommended the removal of a Northport Village judge from the bench due to his use of "sexist, profane and otherwise degrading language."
Paul Senzer has been an attorney for nearly 40 years, and a judge for 25.
The state Commission on Judicial Conduct found that Judge Senzer used "sexist" and "profane language" in nine emails that he sent to a client that he was representing in his private practice.
Jennifer Coleman, a former client of Senzer, spoke with News 12 over the phone Friday. According to the state panel, during a family court matter, Senzer used an expletive do describe Coleman's daughter. He also stated that her lawyer was an “[expletive] on wheels.”
Senzer also used an expletive to describe “people who work in schools.”
“Even though I was having a problem with my daughter, I didn't want him calling her those names,” says Coleman.
In its report, the commission also noted Senzer had been warned before in 2002 about making inappropriate remarks in court about a defendant.
Senzer can either accept the commission's determination and remove himself, or he has 30 days to file a request for review with the Court of Appeals. Senzer's attorney did not return News 12’s call requesting comment.
