Some Park Slope residents have started a traffic-calming campaign to make the streets and intersections safer.

Residents say speeding, gridlock and accidents plague several intersections in Park Slope. Some residents feel that changing some roads from one-way to two-way streets will help ease some of the problems. They say Prospect Park West and 8th Avenue are two streets that need to be changed.

"People on 8th Avenue go way too fast - it's dangerous heading to the park - it's dangerous for our cyclists and pedestrians," says Phillip Noyes.

The Department of Transportation says it is aware of the campaign and is looking into making the area safer.
