Parkchester residents are teaming up with the NYPD in an effort to keep their community safe.

Officers from the 43rd Precinct met with residents last night to discuss crime prevention, public safety and community participation. The initiative was organized by Sen. Ruben Diaz (D-Bronx) and other local leaders.

The topics discussed included adding more cameras in the area, changing the outdoor lighting system and implementing a buddy system for the elderly.
