Repairs on a Garden State Parkway bridge in Monmouth County are expected to impact traffic this weekend.

Two of the three northbound local lanes over Middletown-Lincroft Road in Middletown are now closed and will remain closed through 5 a.m. Monday while crews make repairs.

“While we recognize the inconvenience, we have worked closely with the Parkway and Middletown Township to have the work completed over a long weekend, working continuously,” says engineer Joe Ettore.

Two steel beams beneath the bridge were severely damaged when they were struck by a backhoe this past November.

Officials say that the repairs should be made by Monday’s morning commute.
