Several hundred votes were submitted, and now, there is a new slogan for Paterson as they look to make a resurgence.
Almost 800 votes came in, and about half chose "Great Falls, Great Food, Great Future."
Along with the official slogan comes the official logo, and the Falls can be seen in it.
At the bottom of the Falls you can see a cog, a nod to Paterson's industrial roots.
Ever since Mayor Andre Sayegh was elected, he's been saying he sees no reason why the city cannot be the next Jersey City or Newark.
“I view this city as a startup and with any startup you have to have a vision, mission and you also have to have a message if you want to market this city properly,” says says Mayor Sayegh. “We're the home of the Great Falls, we've got Great Food, home of multicultural cuisine. We're going to leverage the diversity and obviously that leads to a great future."
The Great Falls will hold a ribbon cutting next week for a new water walkway.
"People passion power" came in at second place.
