An iconic New York City pizzeria is setting up shop in Morris Park.
Since 1933, Patsy's Pizza has been a coal oven classic out of East Harlem, and even claims to be America's first pizzeria to sell by the slice. Owner Frank Brija and his son Adem say they have felt excitement building in the Bronx since they made the decision to open up a location on Morris Park Avenue.
Brija says he hopes the restaurant will be a family destination, and that the flavor his coal ovens bring to the pizza will surely set Patsy's apart from the rest of the pizzerias already established in the area. Morris Park neighbors say they are well aware of the Patsy's name and are hungry for its Bronx debut.
Pending some final inspections, Patsy's is set to open up in the borough later this month.
