Members of the NYPD were in court Tuesday to support one of their own as the man who shot him appeared before a judge. 

Rashun Robinson, 28, is accused of firing shots that hit Officer James Li in February. Li and his partner went after Robinson and another man for allegedly not paying a bus fare near Utica Avenue in Crown Heights.

Several police officers and the president of the Patrolmen's Benevolent Association came out to show their solidarity for Li, who they say is recovering but not back on full duty.

"We forget that it's New York City police officers that are keeping it safe for you, but it's not always safe for them," said PBA President Pat Lynch.

Robinson is facing a slew of charges, including attempted murde, and could face life behind bars if convicted. No date has been set for the trial.
