Blood donors at the Shore got a sweet reward Thursday.

People donating blood at Hoffman's Ice Cream in Point Pleasant Beach got a free pint of ice cream.

Since the start of the pandemic, blood banks have seen a drop in donors, and all donations are crucial.

Austin Castorina, of Hoffman's Ice Cream, said, 'Not only are you saving someone's life, you're also getting a delicious ice cream that a lot of people love around here so it's truly special.'

Hoffman's will host three more blood drives this summer.

The next blood drive will be on July 28 at their Spring Lake location.
