Police tell News 12 they have a person in custody in connection to the death of a church groundskeeper in Bed-Stuy. 
On Monday, police say 62-year-old Edward James was shot outside of the Glorious Church of God in Christ on Monday. 
They say it happened at the corner of Marcus Garvey Boulevard and Halsey Street just after 5 p.m. 
Sources say he was a caretaker at the church and that he was the intended target of a violent shooting that sent him running into the church where he later died. 
Police say he was unresponsive when they arrived and was later pronounced dead at NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County. 
There is no word on the identity of the person in custody or if there are any charges at this time.
