A crash in Williamsburg Wednesday morning left three people injured and multiple cars damaged.
The incident happened just before 11:30 a.m. in the area of Lee Avenue and Middleton Street.
Police say a man found a set of keys to an unlocked car near Marcy Avenue and Lorimer Street. The man allegedly took the keys, got in the unoccupied car and drove recklessly down Lorimer Street, hitting three pedestrians, a Chevy Suburban and a pole.
A witness says the man then made a right onto Lee Avenue, going the wrong way down a one-way street, and slammed into two parked cars. He then made another turn, totaling the minivan.
The driver attempted to flee, but was detained by onlookers until police arrived.
The suspect and all three pedestrians were taken to Woodhull Medical Center with minor injuries.
Police say charges are pending
