(AP) - A Brooklyn woman is accused of beating her11-year-old daughter to death with a mop handle because she hatedthe girl's father. Police have been questioning the woman, who allegedly tolddetectives she hit the girl so hard on the head that the mop handleshattered. The child was found dead Sunday in the family'sapartment. Authorities said charges were pending and the city's childwelfare agency is investigating. Officials say a 14-year-olddaughter previously had been placed in foster care. Published reports say the 36-year-old mother and her boyfriend -the father of two of her other children - called 911 after a manrenting a room from them saw the girl lying motionless. It'sbelieved the girl was injured Thursday. The medical examiner said autopsy results could be completedMonday.
