Cops are searching for a man who allegedly entered a candy store in Woodlawn and assaulted the clerk Tuesday.
According to witnesses, the suspect became enraged when the employee at McLean's Candy and Grocery store on East 240th Street refused to sell him a loose cigarette. The clerk says the man then went around the counter and began punching him.
The store owner says the suspect also trashed the shop and spilled beer on the floor before leaving.
