? Police are questioning a Bedford-Stuyvesant mother and her husband after the woman?s 7-year-old daughter was found dead in her home.
Police say a neighbor called 911 after Nixzmary Brown?s mother said she found the girl unconscious. The medical examiner has ruled the child?s death a homicide, saying she died of blunt trauma to the head. Officials say an examination revealed old bruises and wounds. Police believe the 7-year-old may have been bound to a chair. The Administration of Children?s Services removed five other children from the home and took them to a hospital, then the police station.
ACS has been investigating the family since December 1. Police have not made any arrests in the case.
