Police arrested one of two suspects accused of killing a Crown Heights bodega owner and his son last week.
Charles Judd, 50, was charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon in connection with the deadly shooting that claimed the lives of 50-year-old Mohammed Monsoor Abuzaid and his 18-year-old son, Abdul Kareem Abuzaid. The victims were killed inside their Utica Avenue store during a robbery attempt.
Sources say a tip led police to Judd, a convicted sex offender. When authorities tried to take the suspect into custody, he apparently fell unconscious and was rushed to the hospital.
Family and friends of the victims say the suspect's arrest brings them one step closer to justice, though it still cannot bring their loved ones back.
Police are looking for a second person in connection with the shootings. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
