Police made an arrest today in the fatal beating of a man outside his Fordham apartment.Following a three-month investigation, police have charged 29-year-old Devon Down with second-degree murder and robbery in connection with the killing of 59-year-old Bimal Chanda.Authorities are still investigating an alleged accomplice of Down's, but say they have a person of interest. Family friend Mohammad Ali says he spoke to Chanda's widow, who said that while an arrest will not bring her husband back, she is glad that justice will be served.Ali says he plans to hold a public hearing on safety Friday.Anyone with information on Chanda's murder is being asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
