Police: Man arrested after fireworks set off outside Howell theater mistaken for gunshots

An arrest has been made in connection to the evacuation of a Howell theater due to an initial report of shots fired.

An arrest has been made in connection to the evacuation of a Howell theater due to an initial report of shots fired.
Callers inside the Xscape Theatres dialed 911 Wednesday afternoon, believing they heard shots being fired, according to police. Howell, Lakewood and Jackson police cleared the theater and found that no one was injured and no shots were fired.

Police say a manager confronted a man who lit fireworks outside the theater. They say they found the remnants of discharged fireworks.
Just before 6:30 p.m., Howell police confirmed the male suspect was under arrest.
