Police: Man expected to survive after stabbing in East Tremont

Police say a man is hospitalized after being stabbed outside of a bodega in East Tremont.
Police say a man was stabbed last night at the corner of Hughes Avenue and East 180th Street.
Residents tell News 12 the incident happened at around 10:30 p.m. Friday.
One woman says she saw the aftermath and that her husband was inside the bodega and tried to help the victim.
"The guy came inside and he was bleeding…” said Alicia Rodriguez. “And my husband helped him up and kept him away until the cops came.”
The victim was taken to a nearby hospital and is expected to survive.
The investigation is ongoing.
There is no word on surveillance footage yet.
