Police are searching for a man connected with at least three robberies in the Coney Island area.
In each instance, investigators say the suspect slammed his female victims against the wall and stole their purses.
The first robbery occurred near 2949 West 28th St. just after 1 p.m. on Oct. 28. Police say the suspect approached the woman from behind and tried to take her bag. He then punched the 54-year-old woman in the head, causing her to let go of her pocketbook. The suspect ran away with the bag, which contained credit cards.
On Sunday, Nov. 1 at 9:30 a.m., police say a 40-year-old woman was walking inside her building on West 31st Street. The suspect asked her to open the lobby door. Once she did, the suspect pushed the victim against the wall and took her pocketbook.
The third attack occurred on Nov. 9 just after 1 p.m. Police say the suspect followed a 63-year-old woman into the elevator of her building on West 33rd Street. Once inside the elevator, the suspect pushed the victim against the wall and put his hand over her mouth. He took her bag, which contained money.
