A 40-year-old Hispanic man is recovering from a gunshot wound after he was robbed while making a deposit at a Hunts Point bank. Police say the victim was about to deposit $13,000 in cash at the HSBC on East Bay Avenue this morning when he was jumped by two men. They say one shot him in the stomach, and both suspects ran off with the cash. Authorities say the victim was making the deposit on behalf of his employer, Mid-Bronx Haulage. A co-worker says the victim has been making the deposits every morning for the past 16 years. Officials say the victim is in stable condition at Lincoln Hospital. Meanwhile, investigators are reviewing bank surveillance video to see if they can identify the suspects. Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
