Police are searching for a suspect who they say robbed a Mott Haven pharmacy at gunpoint yesterday.
According to investigators, the suspect walked into the Third Avenue Pharmacy at around 10 a.m. and waited for customers to leave for about 15 minutes before forcing pharmacy technician Paradeep Bahalla to lie down on the floor.
Bahalla says the robber then instructed one of his co-workers to hand over the cash and keys to the locker where oxycodone is stored before taking off with the loot.
Police describe the suspect as a man between the ages of 22 and 30, standing at about 5 feet 7 inches, with a beard and mustache.
This latest incident comes amid Sen. Charles Schumer's (D-N.Y.) push for new regulations that would protect pharmacies from robberies.
