A vehicle crashed into a parked car in the Bronx Thursday, critically injuring a pedestrian.
The collision sent the parked car straight into the pedestrian.
Police say the incident happened on Bainbridge Avenue and Mosholu Parkway.
They say the male pedestrian was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he is listed in critical condition.
Witnesses at the scene said that they saw a silver car hit a light green car that was stopped at a red light, and that it continued through the red light before hitting a man on the sidewalk.
"They were coming from 204th Street," said the witness who did not want to be named. "They hit the woman right here, they passed the red light... the guy fell down and he was running, he tried to run away but the police catch him."
Witnesses say they did see a man in handcuffs at the scene leaving with police, and that it was the same man who they saw exit that silver vehicle.
The investigation is ongoing.
