Police probe fatal shooting in East Flatbush
Police are investigating a deadly shooting that happened around 5:30 p.m. Thursday on Brooklyn Avenue near the intersection of Clarendon Road.
Police say the victim was in the passenger seat of his friend's car when another car pulled up behind them. A person got out of the other car, approached the window and opened fire.
Police say when they arrived at the scene the victim was not there.
Officers canvassed area hospitals until they found the 21-year-old victim at Brookdale Hospital who passed away from his injuries.
Authorities tell News 12 Brooklyn that the person took off and the friend of the victim drove him to the hospital.
Police say it was the NYPD shot spotter that notified them.
Police found multiple shell casing at the scene. It is still unclear why the shooting occurred.
