Police say a man estimated to be 60 years old recently robbed a Brooklyn Bank of America.
According to authorities, the man slipped a note to a teller at the bank Monday demanding cash. He then fled down 5th Avenue, walking briskly past more than two dozen surveillance cameras set up by Eli Oved, a business owner. The cameras caught the man?s image, which police are using in their search.
Most robberies are conducted by suspects much younger than the man in question, and are usually drug-related, police say. Residents in the area speculate that the faltering economy could drive almost anyone to desperation.
Police ask that anyone with information about the robbery or the suspect call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
