A Brooklyn family is calling on the public to help find the driver who ran over 8-year-old Elijah Thomas on Wednesday night in Canarsie.
Investigators say the boy was struck and killed as he crossed the street with his mother on the corner of East 95th Street and Seaview Avenue.
Officials say a white Cadillac SUV sped through the light and hit Elijah, but never stopped or slowed down.
?He didn?t run out into the street, he didn?t do it. The man broke the light and took Elijah with him,? says Elijah?s mother Sharon Thomas.
Police are asking anyone who knows any information about the hit-and-run to call 1-800-577-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
