Police say a man who allegedly threw a rock at a Jewish man in Crown Heights in August has been charged.

They say the suspect is 26-year-old Oniel Gilbourne. He is facing many charges, including assault as a hate crime, menacing as a hate crime and criminal possession of a weapon.

According to the criminal complaint, on Aug. 27 at Lincoln Terrace Park, Gilbourne attacked a man dressed in traditional Hasidic clothing by punching him and throwing a rock at him.

Officials say the victim lost teeth and suffered bleeding and abrasions to his head and face.
