A woman was fatally struck while trying to cross the street in the Bronx Saturday, police say.

The incident happened around 7 p.m. in the West Farms section.

Police tell News 12 the woman suffered injuries to her head and body and was rushed to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Police say the driver did stay at the scene.

An investigation remains ongoing.
