Police found a woman’s body on a Brownsville roof landing on Monday morning. Now, detectives are investigating whether foul play was involved.  

Sources tell News 12 the victim may have been a transgender woman. They say they are looking into whether her death was suspicious. 

Police say they received a call around 8:30 a.m. about a body that was found on the first-floor landing of a building on Rockaway Parkway near Kings Highway.  

Police say when they got there, they found the body of a woman who they estimate to be in her 30s--sources say she did not have any identification on her.  

Police say the medical examiner is now working to determine the official cause of death.  

Police say they are working to identify her to notice the family.
