Poll: Most back pump-your-own gas in New Jersey if full service remains available

A Monmouth University poll asked the question -- to pump or not to pump your own gas, and over half of the respondents are willing to accept self-service if full service stays, with less than a quarter believing gas will be cheaper with the self-service option.

A Monmouth University poll asked the question -- to pump or not to pump your own gas, and over half of the respondents are willing to accept self-service if full service stays, with less than a quarter believing gas will be cheaper with the self-service option.
The poll also finds most residents are fine with New Jersey being the only state that bans all self-service gas.
But more than two in three say they would pump their own gas if given the option, although they are under no illusion that self-service would bring the price of gas down from the current full-service benchmark.
