Homeowners rejoiced Saturday as the price of home heating oil continued to decline.

According to oil company officials, the average home heating oil tank will cost about $450 to fill this winter. That price is approximately half the cost homeowners paid last year. The high prices caused many New Yorkers to go without heat when they couldn?t afford it, or to skip paying their bills.

This year, officials say the cut in cost should alleviate some financial pressure on homeowners, though many people say they will continue to use their heat sparingly to conserve energy and money.
