Propel NY Energy officials lay out transmission project plan at Castle Hill YMCA

Project representatives told News 12 that this will improve the reliability and resiliency of clean energy across multiple boroughs

Officials from Propel NY Energy, a transmission project being developed in the region, held an open house event Saturday at the Castle Hill YMCA.
Project representatives told News 12 that this will improve the reliability and resiliency of clean energy across multiple boroughs. It includes about 90 miles of new underground and submarine transmission lines that will connect the Bronx, Queens, Westchester and parts of Long Island.
Propel NY Energy says its hosting events in the communities that will be impacted by the project.
They say they’re in the permitting phase and plan to start construction by 2026. They plan to finish by 2030.
