A Prospect Park woman is gearing up for the Boston Marathon and is raising money for a nonprofit organization in the process.
Diana Yarmovich has been training all winter for the marathon next month. Yarmovich says that to qualify for the marathon, your timing must be under four hours.
She says she decided to look for other options when she could not meet that benchmark.
Yarmovich is teaming up with 261 Fearless, a nonprofit that uses running as a vehicle to empower women through various programs.
The organization was founded by Katherine Switzer, who is said to be the first woman to ever run the Boston Marathon.
Yarmovich's goal is to raise $9,000 for 261 Fearless.
