Dozens of residents and community leaders gathered for a rally today to support members of the City Council who are pushing for a tenants' bill of rights law.
Under the proposed legislation, landlords would be required to display a poster explaining tenants' rights, including eviction protections, repairs and services a landlord is required to make and mandatory heat and hot water in all units.
Landlords would also be required to give a copy of the document to all the tenants with their lease.
The councilman who sponsored the legislation says he expects the City Council to pass it by June. Tenants Bill of Rights
