Homeless residents of the Bedford-Atlantic Armory Shelter protested the mayor's planned shelter merger Sunday, calling it a potentially dangerous move.

Mayor Michael Bloomberg has proposed merging the Bedford-Atlantic Armory Shelter with a Manhattan intake center into the Brooklyn facility. Protestors say the Brooklyn-based shelter simply cannot handle any more people.

"I'm talking about anarchy ? it's going to be total anarchy," says shelter resident Napoleon Jackson. "People are going to get hurt."

The plan would combine the shelters in September. Residents have started a letter writing campaign and reached out to local lawmakers to prevent it from taking effect.

The Bedford-Atlantic Armory shelter currently has beds set for 350 single, homeless men.
