A young Brooklyn chess team has put their elementary school on the map after claiming their first national title.
Students at P.S. 503 competed in the United Chess Federation Scholastic Championship for the first time after the community helped them raise $12,000 to go. They also have several citywide tournament wins under their belt.
Two of the team's players also ranked the ninth and 10th best players out of 2,000 other kids.
