The family and friends of a Bronx teenager shot and killed by police are trying to prevent similar incidents from happening in the future.
Loved ones gathered in front of Ramarley Graham's home Thursday night where several young people spoke publicly about their experiences with the NYPD's stop-and-frisk procedure. A former detective also educated kids on how to respond when approached by officers.
Graham was killed after running from police during an attempted drug bust back in February. The officer who shot him, Richard Haste, has pleaded not guilty to manslaughter charges, claiming he thought the teen was armed.
