A new report released today by the American Cancer Society found that 57 percent of Bronx residents who are diagnosed with colon cancer are in their last stage.
Doctors say that detecting the cancer at a later stage not only gives the patient lower survival rates, but also fewer treatment options.
The American Cancer Society says the key in surviving colon cancer is to have it detected early.
