A new report by the Real Estate Board of New York shows that businesses looking to open in Brooklyn may have to reach a little deeper into their pockets.
The report analyzed the average asking rent for ground floor retail spaces in 15 major retail corridors in Brooklyn. In all but one of those corridors, there were slight increases in average asking rent for the first quarter of the year.
Between North 12th Street and Grand Street on Bedford Avenue were the most expensive retail rents in the borough, with an average asking rent of more than $360 per square foot.
