Residents are blaming careless demolition work for a partial wall collapse that occurred at 76 Steuben Street Thursday.
The wall was part of an apartment building. Louis Galvan, owner of the century-old structure, says the collapse was the result of bulldozing next door.
Despite a report filed about cracks in the walls of the Steuben Street building, officials approved further demolitions. The wall collapsed soon after. Some residents say people?s lives are taking a back seat to development and construction. They say they will continue to keep an eye on construction in their neighborhoods.
News 12 Brooklyn has reached out to the company responsible for the demolitions, but has not yet received a response.
