Residents in Bedford-Stuyvesant are calling on the city to tear down an unstable building they say is on the verge of collapse.

Neighbors say debris has been falling from the top floors of the vacant building at 103 Patchen Ave. for months.

According to residents, the New York City Department of Buildings promised to demolish the unstable structure after it was damaged by a fire one month ago, but it never came to pass. They say it is dangerous to nearby homes and pedestrians.

"We have a lot of activit[ies] with young kids, families passing by to go to the park walking their dogs," says neighbor Jennifer Edwards. "It needs to be torn down."
