Neighbors say a Rockaway Avenue intersection is a disaster waiting to happen because it lacks traffic controls.
Vermelle Cook says she's seen people injured at the intersection of Rockaway Avenue and Hull Street more than once. Alex Rodriguez, a deli worker, says he once saw an ambulance flip over with patients inside.
In April, a white and blue van drove through the Hull Street stop sign only to get T-boned.
Rodriguez says there have been regular crashes at the spot. He's even filed petitions with the Department of Transportation seeking more stop signs or a traffic light.
Neighbors say there is only one stop sign, no light and no speed bumps.
News 12 spent 20 minutes at the intersection and witnessed cars speeding through the lone stop sign.
"I'm praying they put up the signs before a kid gets hurt," Rodriguez says.
The DOT has not replied to multiple News 12 requests for comment.
