Restaurateurs get liquor lesson to avoid fines
The New York State Liquor Authority held its first ever free training seminar Friday to help bar and restaurant owners avoid violations.
Some 200 local restaurateurs and bar managers turned out for the event in Brooklyn to learn valuable tips, including ways to identify fake IDs. The participants also received hand-held ID scanners.
"With this knowledge, I'll be able to go into business reassured that I won't have to deal with as many violations and fines," says Chain Mishulovan.
The Empire State Restaurant and Tavern Association helped develop the training program. Another session will be held in Manhattan at John Jay College April 17.
