Rutgers University police are looking for a suspect who allegedly entered a dorm room at the Livingston campus and made unwanted sexual contact with a resident who was asleep inside.
They say it happened around 7:40 a.m. Sunday in Quad 2 at the campus on Road 3 in Piscataway.
The victim told police that the suspect entered the unsecured dorm room and made the unwanted sexual contact. When the resident awoke, the man fled.
The victim was not injured, police say.
The suspect was described as a 20-year-old male who is Hispanic or Indian. He stands approximately 5 feet, 7 inches tall, and has a thin build with black hair. He wore glasses, a pink shirt and blue jeans.
One resident said despite the alleged attack, she is not worried about safety in the dorms.
News 12 reached out to Rutgers University for comment but has not heard back.
Investigators are asking anyone who has information on the case or who may have been in the area at time to call the Rutgers Police Department Detective Bureau at 848-932-8025.
