As the presidential candidates continued stumping for votes Monday in Iowa, Democratic candidate and Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders proposed a challenge of his own.
The New York Daily News reports that Sanders asked Democratic rival and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to debate in Brooklyn.
Both candidates have ties to Brooklyn. Sanders grew up in Midwood and attended Brooklyn College for a year, and Clinton's campaign headquarters is located in Brooklyn Heights.
According to published reports, Clinton challenged Sanders to debate in Flint, Michigan, days before that state's primary election. The New York Daily News states that Sanders is open to the Michigan debate if Clinton goes to Brooklyn.
So far, there has been no response from Clinton. The debate would be held April 14 if she agrees.
