More than two dozen NYPD officers provided extra security Friday at a Bronx school where a student was stabbed.

Police say an 18-year-old boy was stabbed and robbed Thursday outside J.H.S. 166 Roberto Clemente School.

The incident happened in front of the East 164th Street school campus around 1 p.m.

Dozens of officers were brought into the school along with bag scanning devices and metal detectors. 

Police say the student at the school was stabbed and robbed of his cellphone by a group of boys.

The student was taken to Lincoln Medical Center in stable condition.

Parents say the extra security should be inside of schools everyday.

The Department of Education says the school does not have access to permanent  metal detectors.
