Several Brooklyn Business Improvement Districts (BIDs) will get extra funding for 2006 under Mayor Bloomberg?s new legislation.
The MetroTech BID in downtown Brooklyn will see a 6 percent increase to the $2.5 million it already receives. BID representatives say the extra money is needed and will help existing programs to beautify the shopping area. They add the money will also directly help small businesses in the BID.
In addition to the MetroTech BID, the Grand Street and Kings Highway BIDs, as well as the Fulton Mall Special Assessment District will receive additional funding.
