Shoppers crowded into local stores Saturday in search of last-minute essentials for Saturday’s snowy weather.
Employees at the Home Depot on Avenue U tell News 12 that a lot of customers went to the store looking to buy salt, windshield scrapers and ice removers.
News 12 is told that Home Depot has been adding extra staff and supplies so customers are equipped with what they need.
“We should be prepared with flashlights and first aid kits,” said Home Depot employee Orlando Rodriguez. “We don’t want to wait until the last minute to do that, or wait until the storm comes in to, you know, rush to the store."
The store says they recommend keeping a jump starter, water and batteries in the car during wintry weather conditions.
