Soaking rain makes for dreary Monday evening commute
Heavy rain is moving through the borough during the evening commute, bringing the chance for some flash flooding.
The National Weather Service issued a flash flood watch and a coastal flood advisory for Brooklyn through early Tuesday morning.
News 12 meteorologists say the rain will be heavy at times through the evening, possibly leading to ponding on roadways. It's also windy, with winds W at 10-20 mph and gusts up to 30 mph.
About 1 to 1.5 inches of rain is possible, and it comes after some heavy rain over the weekend, leading to the potential for flash flooding.
The periods of rain will continue through later tonight, with drier conditions arriving by the morning. Overnight lows will be around 40 degrees.
Tuesday will be partly sunny skies and breezy with high temperatures around 45 degrees.
