Soundview residents are worrying that as the temperature rises, so will the odors from a former composting site in their backyard.
Residents say that the former compost site on Randall Avenue is now being used as a general dumping ground, meaning they are left dealing with the smell.
The Department of Sanitation says the site has been inactive for four years due to budget cutbacks.
Neighbors say they have talked to community board members to try and get the site cleaned up.
