Students at Holy Cross Elementary School today honored Cardinal-designate Timothy Dolan, who will be elevated to cardinal this weekend by Pope Benedict XVI.

Students attended a special Mass led by Holy Cross' Father Peter Pomposello, who leaves tonight to attend the ceremony at the Vatican. After Mass, the students made Dolan cards congratulating him on the honor. The school has also put congratulatory messages on its windows.

"He's a happy and holy priest and an example to us all," said Pomposello.

BX students to head to Vatican to see Archbishop Dolan's elevation
