Teachers, local leaders and community members came together for an outdoor learning demonstration Wednesday to help communities across the city envision what outdoor learning could look like.
The event took place on a closed street adjacent to P.S. 15 in Red Hook.
P.S. 15 is one of many schools around the city that has submitted a proposal to the city's Department of Education -- to allow outdoor learning.
Local leaders are calling on the DOE to get moving and to approve schools' requests for outdoor learning.
Parents and teachers tell News 1  that with the first day of classes right around the corner, they're hoping they will learn more about what those first few weeks will entail sooner rather than later.
